Mamokete Ramathe

Founder & CEO: Mamor Capital

After spending over 15 years of her professional career facilitating investments across different sectors, Mamokete gained a particular interest in identifying viable investment opportunities in growing sectors of the economy and driving meaningful value creation. This led to the birth of Mamor Capital. Mamokete also possesses experience in mergers and acquisitions, private equity and infrastructure finance.

Experience:  

  • BCom. (Wits University), MDevF (Stellenbosch Business School); MA in Leading Innovation and Change (York St John University, UK);
  • Former Executive Head of M&A at Vodacom Group, responsible for local and international M&A projects;
  • Previously worked for Cazenove (SA), NEF, Vantage Capital, and DBSA and
  • Non-Executive Director of JSE listed Bell Equipment Ltd and Outsurance Holdings.

Moses Mufunguri

Investment Principal

Moses Mufunguri is a finance and risk professional with experience in finance and risk management in both public and private sectors for over 15 years. He has regional experience having executed professional assignments in East and Southern Africa, including Europe. Moses has been involved in investment decision-making, fundraising and fund management, research, valuations, and due diligence investigations.

Experience:  

  • Chartered Certified Accountant (CCA); Certified Risk Management Practitioner (CRMPrac)
  • Heriot Watt University / Edinburgh Business School – MSc Financial Management / Current Studies
  • Previously worked for Comtel Intergrators Africa, Danoffice IT,  Awethu Project Incubator prior to his consulting experience with A3 Management Consulting.
  • Member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
  • Member of Institute of Risk Management South Africa (IRMSA)
  • Member of South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA)

Shadi Chauke

Non-Executive Director: Mamor Investments

Shadi Chauke is a Chartered Accountant with more than 15 years of experience in the financial services sector. She is also a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants as well as a member of the Institute of Directors in Southern Africa.

Experience:  

  • Bachelor of Accountancy (B. Comm Honours equivalent) (2001) (Wits);
  • Partner at Deloitte & Touche South Africa since 01 February 2013 to 28 February 2018 and
  • Owner and Executive Producer of TV and Film Production companies; Viva Pictures (Pty) Ltd and Pop Up Media (Pty) Ltd.

Chris Hock

Independent Investment Committee Member

Chris is the Chief Operating Officer at Pan-African Investments and Research with over 30 years of experience in financial services. Chris has worked in all three streams of development finance: government, NGO and investment banking. He is the former Head of Structured Finance at Pan-African Capital Holdings and teaches finance at GIBS and Wits Business School, previously taught at Branson Centre for Entrepreneurship.

Experience:

  • In 2001, He was a member of a team which set up RMB’s affordable housing finance unit and
  • After five years at Development Bank of South Africa he founded one of South Africa’s leading developmental micro lenders (housing and micro-enterprise).

Mutle Mogase

Independent Investment Committee Member

As a pioneer of black-owned private equity fund management, Mutle Mogase was closely involved in the formulation of the Financial Sector Charter (“FSC”) on Black Economic Empowerment. He was also chairman of the Micro Finance Regulatory Council (MFRC) and it was during his tenure that the new credit act was developed. Mutle commenced his working career as a financial accountant at LTA Construction Ltd, later moving on to Nedbank as a relationship manager in the corporate banking division. At his next position with ABSA Bank, he was responsible for the implementation of ABSA’s micro lending strategy with the creation of Nubank. He started Nubank from scratch and was CEO for 3 years. During this time, he was also involved as one of the five founding members in the establishment of Real Africa Investments Limited (RAIL), one of the pre-eminent listed black empowerment companies in South Africa. In 1999, Mutle sold his interest in RAIL and started MMR Equity Capital together with Colin Rezek, which after a merger in 2001, was the genesis of the Vantage Capital group.

Experience:  

  • He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Cape Town;
  • Completed an Executive Development Programme at the University of New York and
  • Holds a graduate diploma in Corporate Governance at the Institute of Management Technology in Johannesburg.

Rob Godlonton  

Independent Investment Committee Member

Rob joined EOH, over eleven years ago to grow the infrastructure and applications development businesses within EOH. He has overseen the rapid growth of these businesses including the Outsourcing business and was the CEO of iOCO the Information Communications and Technology (ICT) division within EOH, which has over 4,500 employees with a revenue of R9 billion.

Prior to EOH; Rob worked at Dimension Data as Global Sales Operations Manager and contributed significantly to the success of the global account management programme as well as the global sales operations. He was later promoted to lead Dimension Data’s Global Supply Chain business. Prior to Dimension Data, Rob held a number of senior positions within the IT industry in the United Kingdom where he lived for 13 years. His roles included: Managing Director of Cedar Consulting (which included a management buy-out and the successful sale of the business to Version 1), Vice President – Operations of Infogain in EMEA (following their acquisition of Global Technologies which Rob co-founded); and Director for the services division at the former PeopleSoft.
