Current Investments

We focus on identifying viable investment opportunities where there’s scope for meaningful value creation and strong potential to maximize returns. The original investment focus was skewed towards telecommunications sectors; however, the investment approach has now evolved to focusing on broader sectors beyond telecommunications.

On the back of data driven economy and growing demand for network infrastructure in building digitally connected society and businesses, Mamor Capital invested in two telecommunication infrastructure network build companies that provide solutions to blue chip telecommunications companies. The intention is to grow a portfolio of investments that are value accretive and complement our existing investments in telecommunications through Mamor Telecoms.

In a rapidly changing internet and digital economy space we will in addition to existing investments seek to partner with leading technology companies offering innovative digital solutions to address business efficient processes and creation of products to enhance customer experience. This will strengthen our presence within Telecommunications Media and Technology Sector as a whole.

Mamor Capital has to date invested in  telecommunication infrastructure network build companies that provide solutions to established blue chip telecommunications companies. The intention is to grow a portfolio of investments that are value accretive and complement our existing investments in telecommunications.

Vulatel was acquired in 2017 from Dimension Data’s fibre and wireless division (formerly Plessey South Africa) the highly experienced team of 150 staff, key assets and anchor clients were integrated into Vulatel. Vulatel offers telecommunication infrastructure end to end build and maintenance solutions to major SA telecommunication companies.

We subsequently acquired Gio Construction and Plant Hire (Pty) Ltd and the deal was effective in July 2018. GIO is a provider of network deployment and maintenance services with over 30 years’ experience of servicing key national operators. The company’s expertise is strong in offering network build and maintenance services in key metros within South Africa. The acquisition of Gio in our portfolio has the effect of strengthening our capabilities in the metropolitan areas and complementing the turnkey network build and maintenance know how of Vulatel.
